Ana Ivanovic heats it up in Australia

Ana Ivanovic
Bernard Tomic, who only managed one win in the Australian Open WC Play off last week, scored a Wild Card for the new Brisbane tournament. "Tomic shows a lot of promise," said the tournament director. "It will be a great learning curve for Tomic who'll be able to experience top level tennis against some of the best players in the world." Yep being cannon fodder is always good for the learning experience. Just look at how Donald Young turned out.

Ana Ivanovic blogs about going to football matches and Australian beaches. "My first morning in Australia is always the most enjoyable of the year, because I am coming from the cold of Europe, and have the chance to walk along the beautiful, sunny beach and just take in the sight of the clean, blue ocean."

The Capitala Tennis World Championship exhibition in Abu Dhabi is on first week in Jan. Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Nikolay Davydenko and Andy Roddick all on show. "6 Stars, 3 Days, 1 Winner" says the spin, hmm I only count three stars...

Tom Tebbutt on the money about ball bouncing. Good read.

Matt Cronin dishes it out to Alexandra Stevenson and (mainly) her mother.

Megan Moulton-Levy blogs about getting a WC into the Dubai Challenger because a 'boss' was trying to date her friend, "What would you do if a billionaire offered to ensure that your dreams would come true and it would all be paid for only if you were to be his girlfriend?"
