Dokic back again

Serena, Wozniacki, Roddick and Isner
Australian Open Wildcard Playoff started today with no Poo in sight. Jelena Dokic beat sixteen year old Sophie Letcher which should astound no one (unless of course she lost in which case it would have been back to the drawing board). “I had a little bit of a slow start because it was a little cold but overall I'm happy,” said Dokic, who won 63 60. Also Monika Wejnert beat Marija Mirkovic, Rogowska beat Calderwood, Klein beat Jones and Luczak won but the impressive Jessica Moore and wonderkid Bernard Tomic both lost. Hope Tennis Oz has plenty of those discretionary wildcards to give to the talented losers.

Serena beat Wozniacki in the last Rock n Racquets hit-and-giggle to win the series 2-1 and claim the best injured performance in an exo since Steffi played mixed doubles with Boom Boom in the Hopman Cup. Isner and Roddick joined in the fun (for charity) too.

Caroline Wozniacki Interview: “I definitely want to play an aggressive kind of game, but I also want to be thinking on the court and making the right choices at the right times. I’m trying to be aggressive, run well and make the opponent do more running. I like to think I’m an all-around player — that’s the kind of tennis I want to play.” Good on her, but how come no one ever says "I just want to be a mindless ball basher..." in these interviews?
