Caroline Wozniacki still improving

Caroline Wozniacki
Rybarikova won, Benesova won, Hewitt won, Guccione lost, Pironkova lost, Kuznetsova's injured, Cornet lost to Safina and Serena edged Caroline Wozniacki.

Wozniacki appeared the better player and her scorching backhand continually caught Serena off balance. Her forehand appears to be improved too but she allowed Serena to get back in the game and wasted several match points before losing. She looks a tremendous threat though...

The pre-Open Aussie race for the exits began yesterday with only Millman, Luczak, Ebden and Siranni making it through the first round of qualifying. Ironically Luczak and Siranni were both only in qualifying because Tennis Aus won’t give them main draw wildcards as they are too old to be part of the new youth revolution. And if they do well it shows they probably don’t need any help anyway.

In women’s qualifying Fedak won, Ferguson lost, Starr lost, Rus won, Larcher De Brito won, Urszula Radwanska won and Voegele won.

Bethanie Mattek is too busy getting married to attend this year’s Aussie Open and thrill us all with her wacky fashion sense.

Fed wants to move the Australian Open back so he can score as much Middle-east dough as possible and he will politely suggest to new guy Helfant to make it happen.
