Dominika Cibulkova loves handing out bagels

Dominika Cibulkova
Cornet, Wozniacki and Cibulkova seem to be having a contest to see which young gun can thrash opponents and hand out the most bagels. Dominika Cibulkova handed in her latest effort and must be disappointed to give away a whole two games against the gallant Yung-Jan Chan. And while her draw opened up with Venus’ mysterious demise, she still has Dementieva to get past first. Elena the (almost) great huffed and puffed her way past Benesova and has a way to go to reach peak form.

Fun to see the not-yet-the-next-big-thing Tomic on an evening feature match. Wonder how they sold that match (featuring a Aussie nobody against Giles Muller) to the overseas networks. Fun too for Roger Rasheed who had to commentate and say nice things about the player he recently claimed didn’t deserve a wild card spot in the tournament. And not a word about the player’s father who hit back at Rasheed saying that was only a fitness co-ordinator and not a coach.

Casey Dellacqua also had a go at Rasheed who said she wasn’t fit. "I find it both amazing and totally self-serving that he now chooses to share his ill-informed analysis with the Australian public," she said. Fair call too, she doesn’t look particularly unfit - she’s just playing crap at the moment.

American qualifier lucky loser Delic has Bosnian fans for support, he plays Serbian Djokovic tomorrow. Expect more security than the Cilic Tipsarevic match.
