Peer not allowed to play in Dubai

Shahar Peer
Shahar Peer was not allowed entrance into the United Arab Emirates where she was entered in the Dubai Open. Israeli’s are banned from visiting the country which does not recognise Israel but in order to hold a WTA tennis tournament you have to be open to all players based on ranking. The WTA made a statement condemning the decision but stopped short of cancelling the tournament, which is a way of saying “well this isn’t supposed to happen, but hey have you seen how much dollars these guys have?” Peer was replaced by Lucky Loser Morita. Game, set and match Petrodollars over Morality 6-1 6-1.

In Pattaya Vera Zvonareva beat Sania Mirza as expected.
