Wozniacki beat Krajicek

Serena and Venus Williams face off in a blockbuster semi in Dubai (while Kanepi vs Razzano probably doesn’t have the same impact). The sisters are currently tied at nine all and you would expect the winner to cream the final as well. Who to cheer for? Just hope it’s a good game.

Serena beat Ivanovic and Venus beat Dementieva and both appear to be at the top (or close to the top) or their respective games. Certainly Ivanovic and Dementieva and a certain other Serb are currently forming a second tier of the top ten and openly asking Safina to join them. On current form Radwanska and Kuznetsova will be out of the top ten soon. Your guess is as good as mine about Petrova and Zvonareva.

Razzano beat Zvonareva who should hang her head in shame, Kanepi destroyed perhaps Vesnina’s only chance at a semi-final, Roddick won, Wozniacki beat Krajicek and survived her appalling new hairdo, Del Potro won, the Worm won, Lisicki won, and Erakovic lost. Jozami won against Suarez Navarro without winning a game, Dulko won, Johansson won. Lleyton Hewitt beat both James Blake and Chris Guccione in Memphis. C’mon! Djokovic won in Marseille as did Tsonga and Simon, Tsonga and Llodra. Acasuso and Monaco won in Buenos Aires.

Israel’s Andy Ram will get a visa to play Dubai next week in a major victory for the ATP. Good to see. Guess the boycotts over.

Rafael Nadal’s following Federer’s example and taking a medical break instead of playing Dubai. They’ll be pleased – the two top players and drawcards won’t be there but a doubles player from Israel will be.
