Maria Sharapova’s comeback short-lived

Maria Sharapova
The guys take the courts at Indian Wells in this strange world where pseudo-stars get byes and no-names play each other. Hewitt won, Nishikori lost, Gabashvili won, Starace won, Gulbis won, Darcis won his first match of the year and Moody Maria disappointed hordes of sweaty adolescents who suddenly became doubles fans when she underwhelmed and departed after a (not so) super tie-break.

Sharapova, who apparently wore a new Nike dress for the occasion (I’m glad someone notices these things) thinks the shoulder may be right for Miami but still hurts. Nice to see that she watched the Oz men’s final at 3am to see some Fed-Jet Boy magic.

Rybarikova lost, Stosur won, Haynes won, Oudin lost and Kirilenko managed to find yet another way to lose.

Oh and Federer hasn’t lost his potency at all...

Apparently Ana knows when to walk away.
