Iveta Benesova – Who wears short shorts?

Rafael Nadal surprised no one and Svetlana Kuznetsova surprised everyone by winning tournaments. Safina spoilt her recent coronation by falling in the final. In any case Serena woke up to remind us all that she’s the best and that she and her sister might play Fed Cup in November – don’t book your tickets just yet. The Djoker continues his run for second spot and Murray’s feet of clay continue. Meanwhile Mauresmo and Nalbandian have already exited the next tournament.

The increasingly-more-comfortable-at-the-top Dinara Safina defended her record against Serena’s (which is not easy to do) “She can say this because she won many more grand slams than me. But she’s also older than me so she has more experience. So let’s see when I’m her age how many titles I have and then we can say, It’s not luck. Nobody gave it to me. I played two grand slam finals and last year I won four titles. This didn’t come out of sky.” Meanwhile Serena’s writing a script. “Nothing is impossible.” Indeed.

Jelena Dokic finally unloaded on father Damir.

Iveta Benesova’s short shorts were too short for Estoril and she was ordered to change. Benesova beat the referee and a qualifier. Funny she didn’t mention it in her blog. AMG won Fes. John Isner and Lauren Embree won the USTA French WC playoff. Did the rain beat Federer or did Djokovic? The Jankovic slide continues. Bovina returned to down the wunderkind de Brito and Cornet pushed Sugiyama one step closer to retirement. Six in a row for Sugiyama?
