The Indomitable Roger Federer

Roger and Mirka Federer
Federer’s still on track to beat history as he beat up big Karlovic. Hewitt found two five setters in a row was one too many and can rest up for his likely five setters in New York. He’s remedied his ranking quite a bit though.

Haas and Djokovic are developing a healthy rivalry, though not one that Djokovic will cherish and is Murray’s the man? Will anyone remember he’s a Scot if he wins? Andy to beat Andy in the Semi.

Safina weathered the Lisicki storm and is now well into uncharted territory – is she a chance? Probably not, but she is welding her hands on the top spot by the virtue of her consistency. Is this what the number one means, cause she’s unlikely to actually win a major in the near future. Women likely to win this Major are both named Williams but which will it be? Venus dispatched the upstart Radwanska with ease (but who can’t do that?)

Serena thrashed Azarenka in a bit of revenge and should account for Dementieva. Elena the (almost) Great is in some form though and is due some luck and some respite from her nerves.
