Alicia Molik won Darwin

Alicia Molik

Alicia Molik won her comeback Challenger as expected, tearing through a mainly Aussie draw in Darwin and will line up for her second title in the same place this week. Obviously Darwin is so far from anywhere that you need to hold two tournaments there before anyone will go. Not quite as impressive as Clijsters' comeback title win though...

Olivia Rogowska lost her semi to the underrated Sally Peers and kiwi Sasha Jones was the other semi-finalist. Now they’ll all do it again in Darwin.

Jelena Dokic has pulled from the Paris Challenger but will attempt to play some WTA tournaments in Linz and Moscow. Next is the Athens 100K.

Peer won Guangzhou. Czink won Quebec. Dent won Tulsa. Spain and the Czech Republic completed the formalities and will face off for national glory in December. Fed does his usual one bit for der Schweiz to keep them in the world group. Watch them plummet out in February when he’s too busy to play the first round. Britain are awful even with Murray – so he might as well not play.

Hingis can’t dance.
