Svetlana Kuznetsova slams Tarpischev

Svetlana KuznetsovaDani Hantuchova looked great against Dementieva but generally manages to lose these matches, Cibulkova ran over a struggling Kuz, Serena had no need to complain nor entertain against Martinez and Safina took care of business. Bondarenko the Greater edged Cornet, Zheng thrashed Peng and Molik and Dokic played doubles for some reason and should probably stick to singles.

Grosjean beat Mayer, Clement beat Chardy, Ferrero retired, Querrey’s in a losing frame of mind, Fish had a Ball, Nalbandian booked an early flight home and Ljubicic replaced Fed for the Kooyong hit and giggle.

Kuznetsova had a go at officials regarding match-fixing reporting a few days ago and now she’s let go at Russian tennis demi-god Shamil Tarpischev. Tarpischev recently said Kuznetsova doesn’t play Fed Cup because “success has gone to her head” and she’s replied saying she never had any support from the Russian Tennis Federation and owes them nothing and that because she played Fed Cup last year she was allowed to skip it now. Of course it’s all in Russian on her site. Translation here.
